The ‘Private Residential Tenancies’ were introduced in December 2017 by The Private Housing (Tenancies) (Scotland) Act 2016. One significant change is the lack of a minimum term for tenancies; tenants can serve 28 days’ notice at any point from the lease start date. Typically, the deposit requested is equivalent to one month’s rent, though it can be up to two months’ rent in some cases.

Services To Tenants
We have several properties available for let and a team of leasing experts to help you find your ideal property. Tenants have access to all our clients’ properties on our property database and receive regular support from our various offices.
Once you find a property you like, contact our leasing team at leasing@peterkins.com for application forms. Required references include financial details, employer reference, Landlord reference, and occasionally a guarantor. The checks are completed via our referencing provider. Typically, it takes 7 to 10 days to move into a leased property, depending on property availability, references, and legislative measures.
